TARGET PRACTICE NECESSITY OF OFFGRID LIFE
We target practice as much as we can. We have several different guns for several different reasons. We observe all safety practices as though we were on a gun range. When you carry a gun while hanging out the laundry, it is necessary to be able to hit the intended target.
We both took gun safety classes when we purchased our first guns. It had a similation to test your ability to determine when to shoot and when not to shoot. It was interesting.
We were taught to shoot to kill and if you did not think that you could do that, to leave the class. You shoot until your intended target is no longer a threat. We stayed in the class.
When our friends come to visit, they usually bring their guns and we practice target shooting in the morning as it gets too hot in the afternoon.
I am more accurate than I was last year. My short stature as with many things limits some of my abilities and experiences.
I recently purchased a Remington 20 ga. shot gun. It is two-thirds my height. Makes it difficult to sight, not impossible, just difficult. I also have a .22 Ruger rifle, a .22 Ruger revolver and a .22 Walther/Smith and Wesson. I carry the revolver with snake shot and the Walther on the same gun belt all the time.
Ron has a 9mm Walther/Smith and Wesson and a .38 Taurus revolver with a 2" barrel(he keeps snake shot in it) and 12 ga. shot gun.
