SOLAR WELL PUMPS

The well house contains all of the equipment such as solar well pumps to run water to the house. We currently pump the water from the well to a 1500 gallon holding tank with the gas generator. The pump is designed to run off of 120vac(volts alternating current),240vac or 48 vdc (volts direct current).

We used Grundfos submersible pump for our well.

Pressure tank

The water is pumped from the holding tank to an 80 gallon pressure tank run by the solar booster pump. The pressure tank turns on at about 35 PSI to fill the tank. With the bladder I am not sure how much usable water we have in the pressure tank. We are careful with our usage, but we have only run out of water when the holding tank runs low.

Booster pump

A Conergy Flowlight 2920 booster pump brings the water from the holding tank to the pressure tank. To prevent particles from clogging the booster pump a filter has been installed.

Pump house solar panel

The pressure tank is run by solar power system of a 20 watt solar panel and two deep cycle batteries. We bought an RV solar system to try it out to see if solar was going to work for us. Also, to see if we could understand what we were doing.

Batteries The two deep-cycle batteries are for back up in the evening which so far has been more than sufficient to run the solar well pumps.
