Solar Composter
Great For Any Size Garden

Solar Composters

Solar Composter We have two solar composters, one is used for six months and then start using the other one while the first one cures. All uncooked vegetable scraps, shreded paper, plant material and coffee grounds go into it. The plant material should be chopped up so that it processes faster. No meat or dairy products can be composted. Then water is added and it is turned once a week to mix materials. This really saves on the amount of trash we take to the land fill.

Composters keep the critters out, supply air and hold moisture in. The dark material absorbs heat from the sun so that the material can decompose.

All burnable materials go in the burn barrel and burned once a week.
