Temperament
Rhodesian Ridgeback is devoted and affectionate to his owner, reserved with strangers.

General appearance
Size: 70-85 pounds; 24-27 inches to the shoulders
Coat: short, dense, sleek, glossy
Color: silver, apricot-fawn and black
head: fair length, skull flat, wide between the ears
Eyes: round, bright, sparkling, same color as the dog
Ears: set high, medium size
Muzzle: long, deep, powerful
Tail: strong a incertion tapering

The oddity of this breed is the ridge on the back. The ridge must be regarded as the characteristic feature of the breed.
