NORTH PORCH RECYCLED LUMBER USED

north porch The north porch was constructed from recycled lumber also. It is 8' X 8' with an overhang. It is mostly 2 x 4's but it is a mix because we bought what was available.

The lumber was pretty twisted so pipe clamps were used to hold it down until it was nailed. I can't wait to see what I can do with straight lumber!

The ramp that used to be there is temporarily being used for steps.

Half inch hard cloth was stapled all the way around the bottom so that our dogs could not get stuck under the deck and again to keep out the critters. About 4 inches of hard cloth is also buried.

Our dogs know that this is their deck because every morning my chair is knocked off onto the ground. They lay out there in the morning and at night. It gets them off of the ground so the insects aren't biting them.

There are beautiful sunsets from here as it faces northwest.

energy saving flood lights Ron installed energy saving flood lights. They are 14 watts each eluminating 60 watts. All of the lights in our house are low wattage. It is great to be able to see out back at night instead of using a flashlight.

Come see what we did with the South Porch from North Porch
