DRY STACK CONCRETE BLOCK SPREADSHEET USED TO BUILD OUR HOME

This dry stack concrete block spreadsheet is of the south side of our home. The spreadsheet is an Excel spreadsheet made from the cells used as blocks. It has double doors and several windows for glazing. It is the front of our home.

A spreadsheet was made for each side of the house. This was our blueprint. It was a great communicating tool. Our offgrid home came out exactly as the spreadsheet instructed.

I made one other diagram which was a floor plan from a computer program. I was able to put furniture in the floor plan and rearrange multiple times.

The basic floor plan remained the same with a few minor changes, but nothing else was the same. Practicality and ease of movement through the house required several changes.

The outside of the house was also changed. The roof in particular was modified. A shed roof was chosen for the ease of construction and blending in with our surroundings. Our home is unobtrusive and barely visible.
